“ Rum Masters and Young Talents in Contemporary Art
From January 25th to 27th, with Compagnia dei Caraibi and Rum Diplomático, the world of spirits met the world of contemporary art, young artists, galleries, and collectors at the Affordable Art Fair in Milan. And it wasn't a casual meeting and partnership, but a communion of talents, an elective affinity between the masters of rum, the art of distilling rum, creating original cocktails, and the creativity of those who practice art with a capital A every day. Thus was born LAB within the international fair. A project space and a creative manifesto that involved several emerging Italian and international artists—Marcelina Amelia, Dayana Montesano, Irene Meniconi, Antonella Mellini, Irati Anda Solay, Fra Design, and Mr Save the Wall—in a live performance where Diplomático's iconography was reinterpreted through the gaze and sensitivity of new voices in contemporary art.”
